 Rejoice and Be Thankful!

Happy Resurrection Season!   Rejoice in the Lord always, [delight, take pleasure in Him] and again I say, rejoice!  The preacher in the book of Habakkuk says: I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!

We can rejoice today, and any other day, because of what our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ did for us on Calvary!  Jesus suffered, and died for us on the Calvary tree.  He said, “It Is Finished”.  I have fulfilled the law.  And the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom, signifying a direct access to God our Heavenly Father.  After his burial, on the third, He triumphantly rose from the grave, having the keys of death and hell with Him, and went to the Father.  He now lives forever, and because he lives, we shall also live with Him forever.

Even though we pass through the valley of the shadow of death here on earth, we can say with David, the Psalmist, that we shall fear no evil, for God is with us; and his rod and staff, they comfort us.   Paul shares his experience in 2 Corinthians: “As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.”  The takeaway here is that God loves us to the end. The end journey for the Saints of God is glorious, and not grievous.  This is the reason why we rejoice at all times as His children.

How can we adequately thank God our Father for his plan of salvation through His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world?  Well, we are admonished to give thanks in every circumstance.  Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.   For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  Therefore, we should not be ashamed of the gospel of the CROSS, the BLOOD, and the RESURRECTION; for it is the power of God unto salvation for those who believe.  May our faith in the finished work of Christ on Calvary be strengthened today and beyond.  Amen!
